Poser Creator Series with Anita Lee Marier

Poser offers users the ability to use interactive 3D figure design to create art, illustration, animation, comics, web, print, education, medical, games, story boarding, and more. Using the program, creators can bring their stories, dreams and fantasies to life. From historic to contemporary, sci-fi to fantasy, Poser is the 3D graphics software tool used by professionals and hobbyists alike.

That's why we want to take a closer look at some of the creators who leverage the power of Poser to create.

It was the fairies that brought Anita Lee Marier to digital art.

"My husband brought my computer to me and hooked it up to the TV. I would browse the internet and came across this beautiful fairy art," Marier said.

Then she found out the fairies were created with Poser and the rest is history.

But Marier's love of fairies doesn't end in the digital sphere.

She spends a weekend every year at Faerieworlds, a fairy-themed festival held in Oregon. The festival features artists, authors, musicians and crafters whose work is connected to or inspired by folklore, specifically faerie lore.

AnitaLee, as she is known to her digital art fans, took some time to let us get to know her better and learn why she creates with Poser.

Tell us about yourself.

My name is Anita Lee Marier, but I go by Anita Lee online and for my artwork. I live in the pacific northwest of the USA with my husband and four sons.

I have always loved fantasy art, and when I discovered digital art and fell in love. I love creating, and spend time creating some form of my digital art almost everyday. I create my art using both Poser 11 and other 3D rendering programs. I sell some of my artwork for others to use in their own creations, and also sell prints and other items with my art. I also accept occasional commissions requests.

I also work fulltime outside the home as a phlebotomist (people trained to draw blood from patients for clinical or medical testing). I have worked in the medical field for over 20 years.

How long have you been using Poser and why did you start using the program?

I have been using Poser since 2004, I started using it because I was in the hospital for two months. My husband brought my computer to me and hooked it up to the TV. I would browse the internet and came across this beautiful fairy art. And then I learned it was made with this program called Poser and I wanted to give it a try.

I joined Renderosity a couple months later. It was a search for Poser art that lead me there and started my art journey in the first place.

What inspires your creations?

I love fantasy art and sci-fi. I get inspired by my imagination and the fuel that starts the fire is often just the amazing props and outfits that vendors create

What is your favorite thing to create in Poser?

Fairies.

I have been a fairy fan for a very long time, I go to a festival every year called Faerieworlds. Fairy art is part of what drew me to Poser, made me want to learn more, so I could create my own fairy art.

Oh, Faerieworlds is a really fun festival. Kind of like a renaissance fair but better. You camp there for three days. There're lots of art, food, clothing vendors, bands, dancing, and fun. And almost everyone dresses up as fairies, pirates, etc.
